SSU detains enemy informant who collected intelligence on South Ukraine NPP’s defence
As a result of counter-sabotage efforts in Mykolaiv oblast, the SSU exposed another informant of russian intelligence services.
The offender collected information on location of bases and numbers of the Defence Forces personnel guarding the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant.
Occupiers needed these classified data to prepare targeted missile strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities.
The informant received money from his handlers for fulfilling enemy assignments.
The investigation documented that the suspect had received an advance payment of UAH 2,000 from the aggressor to his own bank card.
The SSU detained the traitor when he was photographing a critical infrastructure facility. A mobile phone with evidence of the crime was seized from the suspect.
According to the investigation, the aggressor’s accomplice is a resident of Yuzhnoukrainsk, whom the russian special service engaged in covert cooperation remotely in February 2023.
He came to the attention of the enemy through his pro-kremlin posts on a russian Telegram channel.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served the detained individual a notice of suspicion.
The court chose custody as a measure of restraint. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Mykolaiv region exposed the offender under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
