SSU detains informant who provided enemy with intelligence on Defence Forces positions in liberated Lyman
The SSU has exposed another traitor who passed intelligence on locations of Ukrainian defenders in the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast to occupiers.
The invaders were primarily interested in bases and movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the SSU units in the liberated Lyman.
The informant also provided russian occupation forces with coordinates of local railway infrastructure facilities.
The SSU apprehended the suspect when he was conducting reconnaissance.
The detained enemy agent is an unemployed resident of Lyman, who communicated with a militant of the occupation groupings of russia’s Southern military district.
Following the aggressor’s instructions, he walked around the liberated Lyman and collected data on locations of Ukrainian defenders and infrastructure facilities.
The collected information was passed to the militant through the banned russian social network Odnoklassniki.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the offender a notice of suspicion under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (providing assistance to the aggressor state’s armed formations in conducting warfare against the AFU and other military formations).
The suspect is in custody, facing up to 15 years in prison. The investigation is ongoing.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the counter-sabotage measures under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
