SSU detains enemy agent who tried to help russians target Ukrainian tank convoys near frontline in Kharkiv oblast

The SSU’s cyber units have prevented the enemy from getting information on the routes of the AFU convoys.

This was possible as the Service exposed an agent of russian intelligence who was monitoring the redeployment of the Defence Forces towards the frontline.

The enemy asset had special focus on the routes of Ukrainian tanks and their approximate number.

He was also trying to identify logistics sites where heavy armoured vehicles were serviced and repaired.

The ruscists planned to use this data to prepare combat operations on the eastern front, including on Kupiansk direction.

However, the SSU identified and detained the traitor during his attempt to pass the intelligence to the enemy.

The perpetrator is a 45-year-old resident of Kharkiv suburbs, an ideological supporter of ruscism.

At the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion, he moved to Poltava region and tried to contact the russian intelligence on his own initiative.

To do this, the man posted on pro-kremlin Telegram channels, praising putin and glorifying russian troops.

In one of these chats, he was offered covert cooperation and sent a list of assignments.

To gather information, the agent used his acquaintances in Kharkiv region, enquiring about the ‘necessary facts’ during friendly conversations.

During the search of the suspect’s rented apartment, the SSU seized computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of the crime.

The SSU has notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 114-2.1 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on direction, movement of weapons and armaments through Ukraine).

The suspect is in custody and faces imprisonment.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
