SSU detains traitor who last month adjusted Iskander strike on downtown area of Kharkiv
SSU cyber experts detained an agent of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the russian federation (aka gru) who adjusted the russian air attack on Kharkiv on October 6, 2023.
That day, the occupiers used Iskander missiles against the regional center. As a result of the enemy strike, two civilians were killed, including a 10-year-old boy, and dozens of civilians were injured. Several residential buildings in the downtown area of Kharkiv were significantly destroyed and damaged.
It was established that in order to prepare a missile attack, the russian agent passed the georeferenced data on the ‘targets’ to the invaders.
According to the investigation, the traitor worked at a local road construction company. The russian special service recruited him remotely via the Telegram messenger.
Under the guise of business trips, the agent recorded the locations of Ukrainian troops and their movements in the region.
The spy passed the intelligence to the russian gru via a "liaison" from the temporarily occupied part of eastern Ukraine. He turned out to be one of the former leaders of the LNR terrorist organization, aka Shaman, who had been previously notified of suspicion by the SSU.
During the searches at the detainee's home, the SSU found the following:
- 4 mobile phones and 7 SIM cards of different mobile operators with evidence of correspondence with the aggressor;
- bank cards with money transferred by the russian gru;
- more than USD 10,000, obtained by criminal means.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the enemy agent a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
He is currently in custody, facing life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
The SSU Office in Kharkiv region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
