SSU detains traitor who guided russian glide bombs at Kharkiv defenders

The SSU has detained an agent of russian military intelligence in Kharkiv. He adjusted russia’s missile and bomb attacks on the frontline city and adjacent territories.

The enemy’s priority targets were the bases of Ukrainian troops involved in combat operations in Kharkiv sector.

To launch guided aerial bombs and missile weapons at the Defense Forces, the russian service remotely recruited a 42-year-old unemployed man from Kharkiv.

He came to the attention of the occupiers through his pro-kremlin posts on Telegram channels.

There, he was contacted by a serviceman of the main directorate of the general staff of the russian armed forces (‘the GRU’) and was offered cooperation.

On the GRU instructions, the agent regularly walked around the city and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian units.

Then, he marked the coordinates on Google maps and sent a report to his russian handler via a messenger app.

The SSU exposed the traitor at an early stage of his reconnaissance activities. This allowed to protect Ukrainian positions.

After the Service documented his criminal actions, the perpetrator was detained in his home.

During the searches, the investigators seized his cell phone, which was used to photograph military facilities and communicate with the GRU.

Based on the collected evidence, the SSU notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The court chose custody without bail as a measure of restraint. The suspect faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Kharkiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
