SSU detains traitor who directed russian artillery at his AFU brigade during Chasiv Yar battle
The SSU Military Counterintelligence has apprehended another agent of russia’s federal security service in Donetsk region. He is a 22-year-old operator of unmanned systems of one of the combat brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which holds defense in Kramatorsk sector.
In 2023, the contract serviceman was remotely recruited by Dmitri Sorokoletov, an FSB officer.
According to the investigation, he passed to the enemy the location of his UAV unit that was adjusting the fire on the invaders attacking Chasiv Yar.
The aggressor planned to use this information to strike on the positions of Ukrainian drone operators that were preventing the ruscist breakthrough into the city.
The asset also tried to provide the FSB with the coordinates of other Ukrainian units near Chasiv Yar.
The SSU Military Counterintelligence uncovered the traitor at an early stage, preventing the attacks on Ukrainian troops.
After documenting the crime, the enemy agent was detained.
According to the investigation, the individual came to the attention of the occupiers because of his pro-kremlin comments in russian Telegram channels, in which he supported russia’s war against Ukraine.
During the searches, the investigators seized mobile phones with evidence of the crime.
The SSU notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office.
