SSU detains traitor preparing missile attack on Odesa
The SSU Counterintelligence has detained an enemy agent who was preparing a new russian air attack on Odesa’s civilian infrastructure.
In order to get past Ukrainian air defence during the strike, the occupiers instructed their accomplice to identify locations of air defence systems in Odesa.
The aggressor was primarily interested in coordinates of anti-aircraft missile systems in the coastal area of the city.
The invaders also tried to find out about the presence of warships equipped with air defence systems in local ports.
They planned to use these data to prepare new attacks on the city, including with cruise missiles and Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
The SSU timely uncovered the enemy plans and prevented their implementation.
Prior to the detention of the suspect, all her criminal actions were documented.
This allowed to warn the Defence Forces command and prepare for defence.
In the course of the investigation, the SSU identified the asset’s russian handler. This is the chief of a reconnaissance unit of the russian troops grouping in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
The aggressor recruited the woman remotely in January this year as she was an ideological supporter of ruscism.
SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Odesa region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
