SSU detains traitor who adjusted enemy strikes on Ukrainian artillery positions near Chasiv Yar

In Donetsk region, the SSU has apprehended another agent of russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’). The perpetrator was spying on the locations of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and adjusted russia’s air strikes.

The spy is a 51-year-old unemployed woman from Kostiantynivka, recruited by the russian service this summer.

She tried to identify and pass to the occupiers the locations of fortifications and artillery positions of Ukrainian units defending Chasiv Yar.

The aggressor state planned to carry out air attacks on these AFU bases and try to create conditions for a breakthrough in the city’s defense.

The SSU Counterintelligence uncovered the adversary’s plans and detained the agent at her home. Simultaneously, action was taken to protect the Defense Forces.

During the search, computer equipment and a mobile phone with evidence of the crime were seized.

SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
