SSU detains traitor who tried to set video traps to adjust enemy strikes on Chernihiv

The SSU has apprehended another agent of the russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’), who operated in Chernihiv region. The perpetrator adjusted enemy air strikes on Ukraine.

Using the asset’s information, the occupiers attacked Chernihiv with two Kh-59 missiles in early November this year.

The traitor turned out to be a local woman, recruited by russia due to her anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels.

For future adjustments of russian strikes, the enemy intelligence service assigned her a task: to install a hidden video camera near potential targets.

With the help of a disguised video trap, the occupiers intended to track the locations of Ukrainian air defense, and after an air attack, record its consequences.

However, the SSU Military Counterintelligence prevented this and detained the traitor near her apartment in Chernihiv. Video recording devices and a mobile phone with evidence of reconnaissance and sabotage against Ukraine were seized.

SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
