Kherson region: SSU detains traitor who leaked information about Ukrainian drones
The SSU Military Counterintelligence detained another agent of the main directorate of the general staff of the russian federation (aka GRU) during a special operation in Kherson region.
The offender is a contract servicewoman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is deployed in the region and performs combat missions on the front line.
Following the instructions of the russian special service, the traitor collected intelligence on unmanned aerial vehicles of the Security and Defense Forces.
Primarily, the enemy was interested in the locations of Ukrainian reconnaissance drones on the right bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region.
In addition, the agent tried to collect more intelligence on possible counteroffensive operations of Ukrainian troops.
Moreover, she tracked the firing positions of the Ukrainian air defense in the region.
In case of successful completion of the enemy's tasks, the occupiers promised to "evacuate" her to russia and issue a russian passport.
SSU officers detained the offender on an attempt to obtain classified information about Ukrainian military facilities.
According to the investigation, the spy was recruited earlier this year by a GRU officer, aka Dimka.
The russian special service found her through the subscription to various military-related groups on the banned social network Vkontakte.
Later, the traitor communicated with the aggressor through one of the messengers, where she posted photos of Ukrainian targets with georeferencing.
During the search, the SSU seized a mobile phone which the individual used in her subversive activity in the interests of russia.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111-2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
