SSU collects evidence and serves suspicion notices to another 6 militants who stormed Avdiivka and Bakhmut
The SSU Military Counterintelligence has collected evidence on another 6 traitors who joined russian occupation groupings and fought against Ukraine on the eastern front.
All of them were captured by Ukrainian defenders during fierce battles near Bakhmut and Avdiivka in August-October this year.
Among the detained individuals are mechanics-drivers of russian infantry fighting vehicles and militants who fired at the AFU’s positions from cannons, anti-tank weapons and large-calibre machine guns.
The six enemy accomplices are residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Most of them had voluntarily joined the ‘L/DNR’ terrorist organizations before the full-scale invasion. They took part in warfare against the Anti-Terrorist Operation forces in eastern Ukraine.
After 24 February 2022, the ‘servicemen’ were transferred to the occupation units of the 1st and 2nd army corps of russia’s Southern military district.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the enemy militants of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration);
- 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
- 260.2 (participation in unlawful armed groups).
The suspects are in custody, facing life imprisonment. The investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Eastern Region, Poltava and Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
