SSU collects evidence of guilt and serves suspicion notices to another 19 militants detained during liberation of Kharkiv region

The SSU continues efforts to bring to justice members of russian occupation groups who participated in the war against Ukraine.

As a result of the pre-trial investigation, 19 militants of ‘L/DNR’ terrorist organizations were notified of suspicion of committing especially grave crimes.

They were captured during Ukraine’s counteroffensive and liberation of Kharkiv region.

Among the detainees are former prisoners who had served real sentences for crimes, including murder.

After prison terms, they remained in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

However, a few days before the full-scale invasion, they ‘responded’ to the calls of terrorists Pushilin and Pasichnyk for ‘general mobilization’ on the territory of the quasi-republics.

To do this, they voluntarily came to the local ‘military enlistment offices’ and joined the occupation groups of russia’s Southern military district.

Together with russian invaders, they fought against Ukrainian troops in Donetsk and Luhansk directions.

Later, they were redeployed to Kharkiv region, where they had to cover the escape of core russian units during the counteroffensive of the AFU.

The detainees have been notified of suspicion under the Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.1 (high treason);
  • 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
  • 260.2 (participation in the activities of unlawful armed groups).

In the nearest future, files of the proceedings will be submitted to court.

The SSU Office in Lviv Region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
