SSU thwarts escape of two traitors who helped enemy in Kherson oblast (video)

As a result of counter-sabotage operations in the liberated part of Kherson region, the SSU detained another two supporters of russia.

The enemy accomplices are locals: a father and son who supported the invaders during temporary occupation of the oblast.

After the liberation of the right-bank Kherson region, the younger man continued to maintain contact with the russian military, who fled to the left bank of the Dnipro River.

The individual provided the occupiers with intelligence on locations of bases and movements of the Defence Forces in Bilozerka district.

For example, the enemy was interested in coordinates of combat positions of the AFU’s cannon artillery.

The traitor also informed invaders on consequences of russian air strikes on local critical infrastructure, social institutions and residential buildings.

The occupiers used the intelligence to adjust repeated rocket and artillery attacks on Bilozerka, Kizomys and Veletenske, including with the use of guided aerial bombs.

The enemy informant used anonymous messenger apps to communicate and transmitted data as text and audio messages and electronic coordinates.

During Kherson’s occupation, the spotter’s father voluntarily agreed to be appointed to the ‘ministry of agriculture and fisheries of Kherson region’ established by russians.

While in this ‘position’, he followed gauleiter Saldo’s instructions to spread the kremlin’s regime in the region.

The investigation ascertained that the collaborator had regularly participated in meetings chaired by the occupation ‘minister’ and urged people to support the invaders.

He also forced local farmers to work for the benefit of the aggressor state. In case of refusal, he threatened with repressions by russian punitive bodies.

Realizing the inevitability of punishment for their crimes, both suspects planned to escape to the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region.

To do this, they negotiated with the occupiers how to carry out the ‘extraction’.

However, the SSU identified the collaborators and apprehended them.

Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified the enemy spotter of suspicion under Article 111.2 (high treason committed under martial law) and his father - under Article 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration).

Both suspects are currently in custody. The investigation is ongoing.

The SSU Office in Kherson region carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
