SSU discovers UAH 8 mln that belonged to Lviv City Council official suspected of unlawfully transporting conscripts abroad
The SSU has exposed criminals who ‘helped’ conscript-age men to leave Ukraine with forged certificates of their ‘unfitness for military service.’
The organizer of the scheme is the chief of one of the district social protection units of Lviv City Council humanitarian policy department, while her accomplices were from a medical institution.
For USD 1,300, the official guaranteed issuance of ‘certificates’, which indicate a person’s disability group. Such ‘documents’ can provide grounds for men of call-up age to freely go abroad under martial law.
The official was detained after handing over counterfeits to the ‘client’. She has been notified of suspicion of crime under Article 332.3 of the CCU (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine).
During the searches, the law enforcement found:
- documents confirming the described criminal scheme;
- two premium cars worth over USD 75,000;
- over UAH 8 mln (USD 200,000).
The SSU identified the individuals who have used the illegal services provided by the official. Law enforcement agencies will make relevant decisions regarding them.
A pre-trial investigation is underway to bring to justice all those involved in the scheme.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Lviv Region together with police investigators under the procedural supervision of Lviv Region Prosecutor’s Office.
