SSU seizes over USD 450,000 and son’s russian passport from head of Mykolaiv Region Medical and Social Expert Commission

The SSU has exposed the involvement of the head of the regional center for medical and social expertise under Mykolaiv Region Council in corruption schemes for mobilization evasion.

During the searches, the Service seized over USD 450,000 and a collection of jewellery that she had hidden at several addresses.

Most of the cash and jewellery was found in the apartment of her son, a medical intern, whose russian passport was also uncovered during the searches.

The young man, most likely, obtained the citizenship of the aggressor state at the former consulate general of russia in Odesa before the onset of the full-scale war.

The official also registered three apartments in her son’s name to hide the illegal income. These flats were not declared in her tax returns.

According to the investigation, the head of the Center indicated only the official income totaling just over UAH 2 mln in her 2015-2023 declarations.

It was established that in 2023 the official had issued the second disability group for herself and her son in order to receive additional benefits from the state.

Based on the evidence, the woman in question will shortly be served a notice of suspicion.

The SSU Mykolaiv Office is investigating the case under the procedural supervision of Mykolaiv Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Southern Region.
