SSU detains agents of russian GRU who collected intelligence on Kyiv’s defence (video)

As a result of a multi-stage special operation in Kyiv, the SSU has neutralized a group of ‘reactivated’ agents of the russian Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces (GRU).

4 russian agents have been detained. They were gathering intelligence on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, geolocations of strategic facilities and called on Ukrainians to support the occupiers.

The group was formed by a serving member of the GRU colonel Vladyslav Donets to carry out subversive activities against Ukraine.

It has been established that he was among the russian occupation forces in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions and coordinated russian agents.

At the same time, a representative of the terrorist organization ‘MGB of LNR’ [LNR’s ministry of state security] Valentyn Tililim was the group’s direct commander. For communication, they used previously agreed secure communication channels.

According to the investigation, the agents were ‘reactivated’ after russia began its full-scale aggression. Each member of the group had his own area of activity and tasks.

Two residents of Kyiv collected intelligence on the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces and critical infrastructure. They also gathered personal data of current and former Ukrainian military and law enforcement officers.

Another resident of the capital, who turned out to be a former law enforcement employee from Donetsk region, was responsible for informational and subversive activities. He spread pro-kremlin propaganda in support of the occupiers.

To spin pro-russian narratives, he administered specialized Internet platforms.

This agent acted together with another member of the group - a founder of an IT company from Hostomel (Kyiv region), who was preparing and disseminating content justifying the invaders’ crimes.

During the searches, the law enforcement found pro-russian symbols, communication devices and electronic data carriers with evidence of criminal activity.

The detainees will be notified of suspicion under Article 111.2 (treason committed under martial law) of the CCU. The court is to choose the measure of restraint.

The investigation is underway to bring to justice organizers of the network.

The SSU carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
