SSU neutralizes russian agents who tried to reconnoiter routes of weapons supplies to frontline

The SSU Counterintelligence had dismantled an agent network of russia’s federal security service that reconnoitered locations of the Defense Forces and strategically important facilities on Ukrainian railways.

Three enemy agents have been detained in Donetsk and Odesa regions. They are a resident of Kramatorsk and two natives of Odesa who supported ruscism.

On the FSB’s instructions, they walked around their cities and covertly recorded railway junction stations involved in the transportation of heavy weapons and ammunition to the front.

Another task for the asset from Donetsk region was to identify the positions of Ukrainian troops holding defense near Kramatorsk.

To do this, she traveled around the settlements near the front line and tried to elicit information from local population during everyday conversations.

The agents used a messenger app to transmit the data to their russian handler as marks on Google maps with detailed descriptions.

The SSU documented the crime and detained the perpetrators at their homes.

During the searches, the SSU seized their mobile phones, used for communication with the russian intelligence.

SSU investigators notified two detainees of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The criminal actions of another individual are qualified under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on movement or location of the AFU and other lawful military formations, committed under martial law).

The suspects are in custody and face from 12 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
