SSU dismantles large russian agent network coordinated by Aksyonov’s adviser (video)
As a result of a large-scale special operation, the SSU neutralized an extensive FSB intelligence network.
The SSU detained 19 enemy agents in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and also in Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnytsia regions.
The detained individuals adjusted missile strikes on Ukrainian cities, conducted reconnaissance of positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces, and collected information on the places where Russian POWs were held.
They also collected data on participants of national resistance, who are countering the invaders in the temporarily occupied territories in southern Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the enemy group was led by an FSB agent – resident of one of the districts of Kherson region. He passed the intelligence received from the informants to representatives of russian secret services, including an adviser to the so-called ‘Head of Crimea’ Aksyonov.
Due to the SSU’s prompt response, it was possible to prevent numerous missile and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential buildings of Ukrainians.
It was established that the espionage network was formed by two FSB employees to conduct reconnaissance and sabotage activities against our state. The group included residents of different regions of Ukraine.
The information was passed through ‘liaison officers’ in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson region. Secure Telegram channels were used for communication.
Among the data provided to the occupiers were electronic maps with locations of crowded public sites, critical infrastructure and Ukrainian military units.
During over 30 searches, the law enforcement found:
- weapons,
- computer equipment and means of communication with evidence of crimes,
- pro-kremlin propaganda.
The perpetrators will be notified of suspicion. The court is to choose a measure of restraint.
Within the criminal proceeding initiated by the SSU under Article 111.2 (treason) of the CCU, pre-judicial investigation is underway.
The suspects face up to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
The SSU Department for National Statehood Protection and the SSU Main Investigative Directorate carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
