SSU neutralizes enemy agents who guided russian missiles at schools in Sloviansk
In the course of counter-sabotage efforts in the frontline areas of Donetsk oblast, the SSU detained another two russian agents.
The spies collected intelligence on location and movement of Ukrainian Defence Forces in the region.
They also passed to the aggressor data on location of social facilities, including secondary schools in Sloviansk.
Occupiers planned to use the obtained information to carry out targeted missile strikes on the city.
However, the SSU was ahead of the curve and detained both agents on their attempt to pass intelligence to invaders.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplices were locals who worked for the ‘DNR’s people’s militia’, which is controlled by russian special services.
Communication was maintained through anonymous messenger apps, and a specially created chatbot was used to transmit classified data.
There, the agents posted information on movement of Ukrainian military equipment, as well as geolocations of Ukrainian schools. They supplemented their ‘reports’ with photos and detailed descriptions of surrounding area.
For secrecy, one of the informants used a female name for his account.
During the searches at the suspects’ homes, the SSU found mobile phones and laptops with evidence of sabotage activities.
The detainees have been notified of suspicion. Court chose custody as a measure of restraint for the suspects.
The SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
