The SBU blocked a scheme of illegal privatization of state lands in Kyiv region. The offenders attempted to alienate 50 hectares of state forest fund worth UAH 100 m in Vyshhorod district.

The SBU officers found that officials of three government agencies were involved in the scam, in particular from:

• Main Office of the State Service of Ukraine for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre in Kyiv Region;
• Vyshhorod Regional State Administration;
• SE Vyshchedubechanskyi Forestry of the State Forest Resources Agency of Ukraine.

The officials followed criminal instructions for money.

Law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches of offenders’ offices. As a result, documents proving the illegal activities were seized.

The issue of serving the offenders suspicion notices for fraud and abuse of power is being resolved.

The operation was carried out by officers of the SBU Main Department for Counterintelligence Protection of the State's Interests in the Sphere of Economic Security together with investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Control over illegal actions was conducted with the involvement of the National Space Facilities Control and Test Center.
