Regarding statements of alleged SBU pressure and requirement to provide information on candidates in local elections
The Security Service of Ukraine, having exmined the statement of the People’s Deputies of the “European Solidarity” parliamentary party about the alleged pressure from the SBU and the requirement to provide data on candidates in the local elections in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, officially reports that this information is not true. SBU officers did not send any letters with such content to the “ES” party.
In particular, such reference numbers of the "document" are not used by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and the specified telephone number does not belong to it either. In addition, the head whose forged signature is on the letter did not serve as acting head of directorate on this day.
We emphasize that the Security Service of Ukraine strictly complies with the current legislation and acts exclusively in accordance with Article 19 of the Constitution of Ukraine and Article 2 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Security Service of Ukraine".
All statements of representatives of the “European Solidarity” parliamentary party in this regard should be considered solely through the prism of the political race and the desire to obtain additional electoral points.
We call on all political parties, which are running in the elections today, not to resort to manipulation, fakes and dirty technologies. And even not to try to involve in this process the law enforcement agencies responsible for the security of the state and its citizens.
We ask the media not to disseminate unverified information, and if necessary, contact the Service for official comments.
