SSU detains FSB agent-sniper who prepared assassination of AFU command in Zaporizhzhia region (audio)
The SSU cyber units have collected evidence on another traitor who joined russian occupation troops and fought against Ukraine’s Defence Forces on the eastern front. The individual was a member of an enemy sniper unit that fired at Ukrainian positions in Donetsk region.
The investigation established that during warfare on the frontline he had killed at least 21 Ukrainian servicemen.
Our defenders captured the sniper in late summer this year near Nevelske village, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk oblast.
According to the investigators, the man lived in the temporarily occupied Donetsk and worked as a storekeeper in a local car shop. In 2015, he joined the so-called ‘DNR people’s militia’.
He received the call sign ‘Mesnyi’ and was trained in russian militant training camps under the guidance of special forces instructors from the aggressor state.
After training, the militant was assigned to a ‘separate sniper platoon of 100th separate motorized rifle brigade’ subordinated to the command of russia’s 1st army corps.
Under the russian command, he carried out combat missions against the Anti-Terrorist Operation forces in eastern Ukraine.
For murders of Ukrainians, the occupiers paid him a monthly ‘salary’ in rubles.
After the full-scale invasion started, the traitor was included in the occupation groupings of russia’s Southern military district.
Together with the invaders, he took part in fighting on the western outskirts of Donetsk, as well as near Pisky and Maryinka.
In December 2022, the sniper’s unit received the so-called ‘order of the republic’ from gauleiter Pushilin for participating in the war against Ukraine.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators served the militant a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of Zhytomyr Region Prosecutor’s Office.
