Court confirms russian citizenship of former top official of Ministry of Justice exposed by SSU
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court upheld the dismissal of a former top official of the Ministry of Justice, who holds russian citizenship.
The Ministry officials defended the decision in the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal.
The person in question is the former deputy head of the Central Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice, who on her own initiative obtained russian citizenship.
The SSU has documented this fact and informed the Ministry’s leadership.
Based on the SSU’s evidence, the official was dismissed in 2021.
Later, she decided to appeal the decision, referring to a certificate from the “main office of the russian ministry of internal affairs in the city of moscow” which stated that she allegedly did not have a russian passport.
However, having examined the SSU's evidence, the Ukrainian court dismissed the former official's appeal. The SSU has proved that the documents issued by the aggressor state on her alleged non-citizenship of the russian federation were null and void. In addition, it has been established that the plaintiff did not travel to Bulgaria to receive the relevant russian documents.
The former official may now appeal this decision to the Supreme Court.
