SBU: 76 cyber-attacks hit Ukrainian authorities in June
In June 2021, specialists of the SBU Situation Center for Cyber Security thwarted 76 cyber-attacks targeted at information systems of public authorities.
Having analyzed more than 65,000 critical information security events within the reporting month, the cyber specialists succeeded in detection of the cyber-attacks (a detected cyber-attack is the result of an analysis of critical information security events).
The detected cyber threats and hacker attacks were mostly the following types:
- C&C Server Attacks;
- Brute Force Attacks;
- Web App Attacks;
- Malware;
- And other.
To remind, the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) operates at the SBU Situation Center for Cyber Security. SIEM monitors events in real time and conducts cyber security assessment. Potentially critical events are directly handled by security analysts, allowing to promptly detect and thwart threats in the national cyberspace.
