Odesa region: SBU blocks smuggling of ecstasy

In Odesa, the Security Service of Ukraine blocked the smuggling of psychotropic drugs from the European Union. The organizer of drug trafficking was detained with a party of ecstasy for UAH 1,300,000 (USD 45,000) at shadow prices.

Allegedly, the perpetrator ordered drugs abroad on a specialized website. The "goods" came to Ukraine through the international postal services under the guise of cosmetic products. He searched for clients via the Internet.

The malefactor was detained near the post office after receiving another shipment of 0.5 kilograms of MDMA.

During searches of his residence and a car, the officers found packaged psychotropic substances, packaging equipment, and the correspondence with customers about drug trafficking as well.

Currently, the criminal was served a notice of suspicion of smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their analogues or precursors.

The investigation is underway. Other persons involved in the functioning of drug trafficking are being identified.
