The SBU military CI exposed the former deputy director general of one of the state defense concerns on corruption. He is suspected of misappropriation of components for small arms. State losses top UAH 500,000 (USD 17,857).

Allegedly, the high-ranking official organized the misappropriation of optical sights for sale to third parties. The offenders received components from the armament depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To misappropriate it, they took components for repair, which, in fact, was not carried out.

Currently, the former official received a suspicion notice of misappropriation, embezzlement or conversion of property by malversation. The materials of the proceedings were filed to the court.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of Rivne Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Military and Defense sphere.
