SSU exposes over 700 collaborators since war started

Since the beginning of russia’s full-scale aggression, the SSU has exposed over 700 persons suspected of collaboration.

This was stated by the SSU Spokesman Artem Dekhtyarenko at the Security and Defence Forces briefing.

‘Since the start of russia’s the full-scale aggression, the SSU has exposed over 700 such individuals. These are those suspected of committing the crime under Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - collaboration, which had not existed until March this year. That is, to distinguish from state traitors, here we are talking about collaborators only,’ Artem Dekhtyarenko emphasized.

According to him, the search and prosecution of ruscist accomplices is currently a priority for the SSU: ‘We are working around the clock to not only expose traitors and collaborators, but also to document their crimes and eventually hold them to account.’

The SSU Spokesman informed that the SSU had forwarded criminal proceedings against 268 collaborators to court; verdicts on 53 of them have already been passed. Investigations in the remaining proceedings are ongoing.

‘For example, a recent verdict against a resident of Luhansk region, who passed information on the AFU units to the russian occupation army. For his ‘help’, he wanted money and a position in the occupation administration, but instead will spend 12 years behind bars,’ the SSU Spokesman added.

In general, as Artem Dekhtyarenko summed up, the Ukrainian special service has a complete picture of what is happening in the temporarily occupied territories. ‘The work in this direction continues. We know every collaborator by name, we know all their identification data, circle of contacts and routes of movement. The punishment for these persons is only a matter of time,’ the SSU Spokesman emphasized.
