In 30 years, SSU exposed almost 3,000 individuals who tried to undermine Ukrainian statehood

During the 30 years of functioning of the Security Service of Ukraine, its staff identified and investigated criminal proceedings against over 900 individuals who committed treason and almost 2,000 individuals who attempted to trespass against territorial integrity and inviolability of the state.

Over this period, the SSU uncovered and blocked almost 6,000 attempts of foreign intelligence services to gain access to information constituting a state or military secret.

Since 2015, when restrictive measures began to be applied in Ukraine through mechanisms of the National Security and Defence Council, the SSU initiated sanctions that have been imposed on more than 1,000 legal entities and almost 900 individuals.

As the SSU prevents destructive influence on state security, almost 20,000 foreigners were banned from entering Ukraine, following submissions issued by the SSU. These individuals have either harmed national security or are involved in international terrorism.

Over 48,000 foreigners were expelled from Ukraine for illegal activities.

The SSU also has significant achievements in combating transnational crime. After all, through its cells, foreign intelligence services have been trying to destabilize the internal situation in Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the new wave of Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine, the SSU has continued its 24/7 systematic work to protect our state, its independence and sovereignty. The results of the SSU’s activity over the 30 days of war can be found here.
