Upon SSU’s initiative, 6 pro-russian parties banned in Ukraine
Such decisions were made by the Eighth Administrative Court of Appeal. The court has considered the appeal prepared on the basis of the Presidential Decree and the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of March 2022, as well as the SSU’s response to threats to national security.
The following are now officially banned:
- Opposition Bloc political party;
- Socialists political party;
- Justice and Development political party;
- Derzhava (State) political party;
- NASHI (Ours) political party;
- Volodymyr Saldo’s Bloc political party.
The court made the relevant decisions on June 8, 13 and 14, 2022.
These political forces carried out anti-Ukrainian activities, promoted war, and posed real threats to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Representatives of these parties facilitated violence and crimes aimed at illegal seizure of state power, as well as assisted the enemy and were engaged in collaborative activities.
A vivid example of this is the ‘gauleiters’ of russian invaders in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Some of them have already been notified of suspicion of crimes under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The SSU keeps on working: we will continue to represent the state’s interests in such court cases so that the individuals and parties that harm Ukraine’s security can be held accountable.
