Following SSU investigation, teenage enemy agent who spied in Chernihiv region as taxi passenger sentenced to 10 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, a 17-year-old agent of russian military intelligence (the GRU), has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The SSU exposed her in November 2024 while she was guiding russian air strikes on the Chernihiv region.

The investigation established that the traitor used taxi rides as a cover to track the locations of Ukrainian air defence systems targeted by ruscists.

Among the enemy’s primary targets were combat positions of Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile systems and radar stations operated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect northern Ukraine.

The SSU documented the suspect’s activities and detained her while she was photographing and filming a military installation.

The girl came to the GRU’s attention while searching for ‘easy’ money on Telegram.

Lured by promises of ‘quick’ earnings, she agreed to drive around the area under the guise of private taxi trips, supposedly to run personal errands.

After returning home, she compiled the information she had gathered into intelligence ‘reports’ for her russian handlers.

At the time of her detention, the SSU found a smartphone containing files on the locations of Ukrainian Defence Forces units, as well as an anonymous chat in a messaging application through which she had communicated with her russian handler.

Based on evidence collected by the SSU, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU – high treason, committed under martial law.

As she was a minor at the time of the offence, the court sentenced her to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Military Counterintelligence and investigators of the SSU Chernihiv Office, under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
