Following SSU investigation, enemy accomplice, who guided russian missiles at Ukrainian artillery positions near Sloviansk, convicted to 10 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another russian informant, who operated in Donetsk region, has been sentenced to imprisonment. He adjusted enemy fire on Ukrainian combat positions near Sloviansk.
The occupiers were targeting strongholds and firing positions of long-range artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The SSU detained the perpetrator in November 2022 during counter-sabotage operations in Sloviansk.
Given his cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced the enemy spotter to 10 years in prison.
The traitor is a 55-year-old local unemployed man, who came to the attention of russian intelligence services because of his pro-kremlin posts on the banned social network Odnoklassniki.
The asset communicated with the enemy through an anonymous chat in a messenger app, sending geolocations of potential targets.
For secrecy, he deleted his texting with the russian handler after each communication session.
During the search of the suspect’s home, the SSU seized a laptop and mobile phones that he used to contact the occupiers.
After the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 114-2.3 of the CCU (dissemination of information on transfer, movement or location of the AFU or other military formations).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
