Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, another ruscist has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for terrorising female civilians in Kupiansk and threatening to kill them.

The perpetrator is 55-year-old russian citizen Oleksandr Erzin (call sign ‘Ryzh’) – a serviceman of the 121st motorised rifle regiment of the 68th motorised rifle division of the 6th army of the russian armed forces.

According to the investigation, in September 2025, the russian soldier was given a combat mission and infiltrated the town of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. To save his life, he took refuge in the local police station, armed with an AK-12 assault rifle.

Near this building, he spotted two civilian women who were gathering firewood.

Threatening to use his automatic firearm, the occupier forced one of the local women to accompany him to the district police station, where he unlawfully detained and interrogated her.

The militant used her as a hostage and demanded that her friend provide him with food. At the same time, he threatened to kill the captives if his ‘order’ was not carried out.

After the woman complied with the occupier’s instruction, he continued to interrogate both women and threaten them with his weapon.

Furthermore, Erzin ordered the hostages to bring him food again in a week’s time. Should they disobey, he threatened to track down the Ukrainian women and kill them.

Shortly afterwards, the SSU, together with servicemen from the Defence Forces, took the perpetrator into custody.

On the basis of the evidence collected by Security Service investigators, the court found Erzin guilty under Article 438.1 of the CCU (violation of the laws and customs of war, in particular the cruel treatment of the civilian population).

Taking into account his cooperation with the investigation, the ruscist was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment.

The investigation was conducted by the SSU Office in the Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
