Following SSU investigation, enemy accomplice, who betrayed Ukrainian patriots at russian checkpoints during Mykolaiv battle, convicted to 11 years in prison

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another enemy accomplice who collaborated with the ruscists during the battle for Mykolaiv has been sentenced to imprisonment.

The perpetrator is a 25-year-old resident of Mykolaiv region who, after the capture of Snihurivka district, supported the invaders and volunteered to be on duty at russian checkpoints.

There, he received automatic weapons and instructions to identify Ukrainian patriots who were trying to take their families to Ukraine-controlled territory.

The ‘guard’ stopped civilian cars, threatening the drivers and passengers with weapons, and forced them to get out of the vehicles.

Then, under the pretext of ‘checking’, he took away all documents, mobile phones, money, car keys and other items. Most victims had their property immediately stolen.

After that, the traitor pointed a machine gun at people and tried to force them to stay in the then-occupied part of Mykolaiv region and cooperate with the enemy. Most of the victims were simply ‘turned back’, but they returned without their property.

During the liberation of Snihurivka by the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the occupiers left their accomplice in the community and fled to the left bank of Kherson region.

To evade punishment, the man tried to hide in the region. The SSU established his location and detained him in a rented apartment.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111-2 of the CCU (aiding the aggressor state) and sentenced him to 11 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Mykolaiv Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
