Following SSU investigation, collaborator who worked in occupation interior ministry in Kupiansk sentenced to 12 years in prison
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another collaborator who worked for the ruscists during the occupation of part of Kharkiv region in 2022 has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.
The convicted person is a 51-year-old technician from Kupiansk District Police Department, who, after the capture of the community, voluntarily joined the ‘directorate of the russian ministry of internal affairs’ established by the enemy.
After his appointment to ‘senior logistics officer’, he helped the occupiers set up workplaces in the captured administrative buildings.
The perpetrator was involved in restoring electricity and telephone communicationsand etting up a computer network according to russia’s standards. He also installed alarms on the outer perimeter of the seized building and inside the premises.
After the liberation of the community, the collaborator did not leave his apartment for about a year in order to evade justice.
However, this did not help him. The SSU found the suspect and detained him.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty of collaboration (Article 111-1.7 of the CCU).
After serving 12 years in prison, he will be prohibited from holding any positions in state authorities, local self-government, and public service agencies for another 10 years.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
