Following SSU’s investigation, enemy informant sentenced to 12 years in prison for spying on Ukrainian artillery near Avdiivka
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another informant of the FSB, who was spying on the locations of Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Donetsk region, has been convicted to imprisonment.
The enemy agent identified coordinates of artillery positions and directions of movement of the AFU’s heavy armoured vehicles near Avdiivka.
He sent the data to a ‘liaison’ of the FSB - a militant in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine’s eastern region.
The intelligence was then passed to Nikolai Blokhin, a serving officer of the FSB’s Rostov region office.
The invaders needed the information to plan combat operations on the front line and to carry out targeted missile and artillery strikes on Ukrainian troops.
The SSU detained the informant as a result of counter-sabotage operations in Donetsk region in early March 2022.
Given his cooperation with the investigation, the court sentenced him to 12 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the enemy accomplice is a resident of Novohrodivka, Pokrovsk district, who publicly supported russian occupiers after the full-scale invasion.
He expressed his position on his pages in the banned russian social networks Odnoklassniki and VKontakte.
This brought the man to the attention of the FSB, which then recruited him remotely.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
