Following SSU’s investigation, ‘DNR special force serviceman’, who stormed Ukrainian positions near Vuhledar, sentenced to 12 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court sentenced another militant of the ‘DNR’ terrorist organization who fought against Ukraine.
The ‘soldier’ was captured by Ukrainian defenders in June this year during Ukraine’s counter-offensive in Donetsk region.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the militant to 12 years in prison.
The convicted individual is a resident of Donetsk who joined the ‘DNR’s international brigade pyatnashka’ back in 2017.
Later, russian occupiers created the ‘2nd detachment of the special forces regiment’ on the basis of ‘pyatnashka’ and stationed it in the temporarily occupied part of the region.
In the enemy unit, the militant directly participated in warfare against Ukrainian troops.
In February 2022, he was ‘transferred’ to the russian operational and combat tactical formation ‘cascade’.
As a grenade launcher, he stormed positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Vuhledar direction.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1 (high treason);
- 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization).
The investigation was carried out under the supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
