Following SSU’s investigation, ‘LNR’ militant who took part in Lysychansk’s capture sentenced to 13 years in prison

Based on the findings of the SSU’s investigation, the court convicted another member of the terrorist organization ‘LNR’ to a real prison term.

The sentenced offender is a militant with the call sign ‘Blednyi’, who joined the occupation groupings of the Southern military district of the russian armed forces at the onset of the full-scale invasion.

Serving the invaders, he took an active part in warfare against the Defence Forces near Lysychansk and captured Ukrainian settlements in Luhansk region.

The militant was detained during combat near the village of Bilohorivka in September 2022.

Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the accused to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The investigation established that the fighter was a local resident who had been actively shelling the AFU’s positions in eastern Ukraine since April 2019.

Based on the evidence collected by the Military Counterintelligence and SSU investigators, the court found the offender guilty under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.1 (high treason);
  • 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization).

The SSU reminds of the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine’s state security.

The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
