Following SSU’s investigation, FSB agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempt to use Orlan UAV to adjust strikes on Kryvyi Rih
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another FSB agent has been convicted to prison for adjusting russian air attacks on Dnipropetrovsk region.
According to the SSU Military Counterintelligence, the enemy’s targets were possible locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard in Kryvyi Rih.
The investigation established that the russian handlers had sent an Orlan UAV to reconnoiter the targets - the coordinates provided by the agent.
If the asset’s intelligence was confirmed, the occupiers planned to launch a series of missile strikes on the city.
However, due to the SSU’s proactive efforts, the traitor was uncovered at the initial stage of her reconnaissance activity and her criminal actions were documented.
This allowed the SSU to warn the Defence Forces command and protect Ukrainian units, shoot down the enemy reconnaissance drone and prevent the air strike.
After that, the SSU detained the enemy agent, who was preparing to carry out another FSB assignment.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the perpetrator to 15 years in prison.
The agent was a local woman, recruited remotely by the russian service in March 2023.
To gather intelligence, she walked around the city and covertly took pictures of the military facilities.
The data were transmitted to the occupiers via an anonymous chat in a messenger app.
For each completed task, the asset received money from her handlers to a bank card.
During the searches of the suspect’s home, the SSU seized a mobile phone and a computer with evidence of her communication with the FSB, as well as a bank card with russian money on it.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 114-2.3 (unauthorized dissemination of information on sending, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine).
The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of Dnipropetrovsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
