Following SSU investigation, FSB agent who spied on Ukrainian air defense forces in Donetsk region sentenced to 15 years in prison

Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, another agent of russia’s federal security service, who operated in Donetsk region, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property. The perpetrator spied on Ukrainian air defense units protecting the airspace on the eastern front.

According to the investigation, the convicted woman is a 36-year-old local resident, previously wanted for fraud and theft. In the summer of 2023, she fled to Zhytomyr region, where lay low to evade prosecution.

There, she rented a house and was later recruited by the occupiers while looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.

On the FSB instructions, the agent resumed communication with her former fellow villagers in Donetsk oblast in order to covertly obtain the necessary information from them.

The investigation established that during everyday telephone conversations the traitor asked about the location and specifics of Ukrainian air defense in the region.

The occupiers hoped to use this information to evade Ukrainian air defenses on the eastern front.

The SSU foiled the enemy’s plans and detained the traitor in her temporary home in the spring of 2024.

Based on the evidence collected by the Service, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
