Based on evidence collected by cybersecurity units and investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine, an agent of russia’s federal security service, detained in Kyiv in August 2025, has been convicted to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The SSU caught her red-handed while she was conducting reconnaissance near one of the National Guard’s military units.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator was supposed to pass to the aggressor state a schematic map of the locations of checkpoints and official parking lots along the perimeter of the defence facility.
She had also been gathering similar intelligence on the bases of the capital’s Territorial Recruitment Centres.
The enemy accomplice turned out to be a local freelancer recruited by the FSB. The woman was spotted by them through an acquaintance from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
After collecting and transmitting intelligence to the FSB, the agent hoped to be extracted to russia via third countries.
A smartphone that the suspect had used to communicate with the russian intelligence was seized during the search of her home.
Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
