Following investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine, an enemy agent – exposed in April 2025 whilst coordinating shelling of the Khmelnytskyi region – has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and confiscation of property.

The investigation revealed that a local drug addict, recruited by russia’s federal security service, was responsible for directing russia’s missile and drone attacks; she had been searching Telegram for ‘quick’ money and was recruited by the russian intelligence.

After the recruitment, the asset was tasked with gathering intelligence near a Defence Forces military base, against which the enemy was preparing a combined strike.

To guide the attack, she rented a flat near the military unit and set up a mobile phone camera in the window with a view of the ‘target’.

Using this ‘observation post’, the spotter recorded the arrival times of military vehicles at the base, their maintenance schedule, refuelling points and subsequent routes.

She also attempted to track the time and location of the largest concentrations of personnel in order to direct an enemy strike against them in real time.

The SSU identified the traitor at an early stage, documented her crimes and detained her in a rented flat whilst she was taking photographs and videos of a defence facility.

A smartphone, which she had used to gather intelligence and communicate with her FSB handler, was seized during the search.

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Khmelnytskyi region jointly with the National Police, under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
