Following SSU investigation, lyceum security guard sentenced to 15 years in prison for guiding russian strikes on Kharkiv

Based on evidence collected by the SSU Counterintelligence and investigators, a russian agent has been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment with confiscation of property. She was detained by the SSU in June 2024 whilst adjusting missile and bomb strikes on Kharkiv.

The investigation revealed that the targeting of russian attacks was carried out by a local lyceum security guard recruited by the enemy. She came to the attention of the ruscists as the author of pro-kremlin comments in Telegram channel chats.

After establishing contact with the russian side, the traitor collected information for russian intelligence officers on locations where Defense Forces personnel and military equipment were most heavily concentrated.

The agent also documented the aftermath of strikes on the regional centre and ‘reported’ the results to her handler in russia to prepare new attacks and adjust follow-up strikes.

To carry out her assignment, the woman traveled around the city attempting to identify defense factories and workshops that ruscists were targeting for a series of strikes.

In addition, the suspect covertly extracted the information she needed from acquaintances during conversations on everyday topics.

At the same time, the traitor disseminated pro-kremlin statements and calls for the capture of Kharkiv in Telegram groups.

During searches, a smartphone with evidence of her subversive activities in support of the aggressor state, was seized.

Based on the SSU’s investigation, the court found the agent guilty under two Articles of the CCU:

  •      Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law);
  •      Parts 1 and 3 of Article 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants).

The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in the Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor's Office.
