Following SSU’s investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for passing intelligence on AFU positions during Bakhmut battle
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, the court convicted another FSB agent, who provided the aggressor with geolocations of the Defence Forces and critical infrastructure facilities in Donetsk region, to a real prison term.
Primarily, the enemy was interested in information on firing positions, fortifications and movement of Ukrainian troops near Bakhmut.
In addition, the informant passed to the occupiers coordinates of power substations in the frontline area to prepare missile strikes on them.
The SSU detained the russian asset as a result of countersabotage measures in Donetsk region in December 2022.
Following the SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the accused to 15 years in prison.
According to the investigation, the spy is a woman from Toretsk, recruited remotely by the russian intelligence services after the full-scale invasion.
To gather intelligence, the enemy accomplice drove around the area and covertly recorded locations of Ukrainian defenders and energy facilities.
The data were sent via a messenger app to a ‘contact’ in the temporarily occupied part of the region.
He then passed the information to the so-called ‘deputy head of the Horlivka department of the DNR ministry of state security’, who ‘reported’ to the FSB.
During the searches at the suspect’s home, the SSU found russian passports, as well as computer equipment and mobile phones used by the asset to carry out the aggressor’s assignments.
Based on the collected evidence, the court found the offender guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The SSU emphasises the inevitability of punishment for crimes against Ukraine.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Vinnytsia Office under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
