Following SSU investigation, traitor sentenced to 15 years in prison for passing information on AFU positions in Donetsk region to enemy
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, an agent of russia’s federal security service, detained in Donetsk region in January 2024, has been convicted to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The perpetrator is a 33-year-old woman, an employee of a house of culture in Novohrodivka, who was passing to the occupiers the combat positions of the Defence Forces in the hottest frontline area.
According to the SSU Counterintelligence, the enemy was most interested in the geolocations of AFU fortifications, checkpoints and artillery positions.
To spy, she travelled hundreds of kilometers in buses near Kurakhove, Myrnohrad, Novohrodivka, Selydove and Mykhailivka.
There, she covertly recorded the alleged locations of Ukrainian units and transmitted the coordinates to her russian handler via a messenger app. The SSU has already identified him.
The intelligence was in the form of marks on electronic maps with the names of the objects.
The SSU Counterintelligence documented the crime, took action to protect the locations of Ukrainian defenders and detained the FSB agent in her home.
Her mobile phone with an anonymous chat room, which she used to contact the enemy service, was seized.
According to the investigation, the woman came to the attention of the occupiers in the autumn of 2023 when she posted anti-Ukrainian comments on Telegram channels.
After one of these posts, an FSB officer contacted her and offered to cooperate in exchange for ‘privileges’ he promised her in case the region is captured.
After the SSU’s investigation, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
