Following SSU investigation, 3 traitors sentenced to 15 years in prison, including snipers who shot at AFU servicemen

Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, three more traitors who fought against the Defense Forces in eastern Ukraine have been convicted to prison.

The perpetrators are two snipers and a commander of an assault group of the russian occupation forces of the Southern Military District.

Ukrainian defenders captured the enemy's accomplices during fierce battles near Bakhmut and Mariinka.

Following SSU’s investigation, the court sentenced the traitors to 15 years in prison.

According to the investigation, one of the convicts is a resident of temporarily occupied Donetsk. On the first day of full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the russian army.

The perpetrator took part in storming of the Azovstal plant, and later was deployed to Luhansk region to participate in hostilities near the village of Vrubivka.

In June 2022, as a sniper he fired at Ukrainian positions near the villages of Pisky and Krasnohorivka.

The other perpetrator is also an enemy sniper who was firing at Ukrainian defenders of Sievierodonetsk.

The investigation has established that the traitor is a resident of temporarily occupied Sukhodolsk, Luhansk region. Three days before russia's full-scale invasion, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the occupiers.

The third convict was a medic of the “evacuation” unit of the invaders' medical platoon, but later took courses in combat tactics in urban areas.

After that, the traitor became a commander of an assault unit and deployed to the village of Bilohorivka in the Kramatorsk direction.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found all three perpetrators guilty under Articles 111.1, 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).

In addition, the enemy snipers are charged with Article 111-1.7 of the CCU (collaboration, voluntary participation of a citizen of Ukraine in illegal armed or paramilitary groups).

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.
