Following SSU’s investigation, militants who tried to break through AFU defences near Robotyne sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another four traitors, who fought against the Defence Forces in eastern and southern Ukraine, have been sentenced to prison terms.
They were members of occupation groupings of russia’s Southern military district.
The militants took part in human wave or ‘meat’ assaults on the advanced positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the eastern and southern fronts.
In particular, these invaders repeatedly tried to break through Ukrainian defences near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia oblast.
All four of them were taken prisoner during fierce fighting.
Based on the SSU’s investigations, the court sentenced them to 15 years in prison.
Two of the convicts are residents of the temporarily occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Both voluntarily joined the russian army at the start of the full-scale invasion.
There they were given automatic weapons with ammunition and appointed riflemen.
After a short course at a training range, one of the riflemen was sent to Kharkiv direction, the other – to Mariupol.
Two other convicted individuals are residents of the temporarily occupied Crimea and joined the invaders in the autumn of 2022.
First, they were sent to Berdiansk to equip russian fortifications and checkpoints.
Later, the two traitors were deployed to Robotyne area to storm Ukrainian defensive positions.
Based on the evidence collected, the court found the two militants guilty under three Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization);
- 260.1 (participation in unlawful paramilitary or armed groups).
The criminal actions of the other two offenders were qualified under Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Lviv and Poltava regions under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Offices.
