Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service of Ukraine, another nine individuals who fought against the Defence Forces in the Donetsk region have been sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and confiscation of property.

The perpetrators were captured by Ukrainian defenders during fighting in the Pokrovsk and Kramatorsk sectors.

One of the convicts is a resident of the temporarily occupied part of the region who enlisted in russia’s 132nd motorised rifle brigade when the full-scale war began.

Serving as a sniper and grenade launcher operator under the call sign ‘Sukhoi’, he took part in assaults on Defence Forces positions near Pokrovsk, where he was subsequently captured.

Another militant sentenced is a resident of Makiivka. He had joined an armed grouping of russia’s Southern military district in 2018 and was given the call sign ‘Yakut’.

The investigation revealed that the traitor had been assigned as a mechanic-driver in a russian air defence platoon and had taken part in russian assaults on Ukrainian positions in the Pokrovsk district.

A local repeat offender who had been serving a sentence in a penal colony in the republic of Adygea, russia, was also sentenced. After signing a contract with the russian ministry of defence, he joined the russian assault unit ‘Storm-V’.

After a brief training period at military training grounds, he was deployed to attack the defensive lines of Ukrainian forces near Volodymyrivka, where he was captured.

The fourth man convicted is a resident of the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region. He arrived in Moscow before the start of the large-scale war and joined the enemy forces in September 2025.

After one and a half months of ‘service’, the traitor was taken prisoner during fighting in the Kramatorsk sector.

Another five convicts are residents of temporarily occupied towns in the Donetsk region who voluntarily joined the aggressor state’s armed groups at various times.

On the battlefield near Dobropillia, russian commanders deployed the ‘mobilised’ men as part of ‘disposable’ assault groups. The militants were captured by the Defence Forces near the settlements of Kucheriiv Yar, Vesele and Zolotyi Kolodyazh.

Based on evidence, the court found the accused individuals guilty under two Articles of the CCU:

• 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
• 111-1.7 (collaboration).

The investigations were conducted jointly with investigators of the SSU Offices in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
