Following SSU investigation, another two militants, who fought against Defense Forces in Donetsk oblast, sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on evidence collected by the SSU Military Counterintelligence and SSU investigators, two traitors who fought against Ukraine on the side of russian military groupings received real prison terms.
The Defence Forces captured both perpetrators after battles on Lyman and Siversk directions.
One of the convicted is a 39-year-old resident of the temporarily occupied Sorokino in Luhansk region, who left for the city of Vladimir in russia and signed a contract with the ministry of defence of the aggressor state.
There, he was enlisted as a rifleman in the 37th motorized rifle regiment. After a short combat training, he took part in the capture of Zelena Dolyna village.
Another militant, also a resident of the temporarily occupied Luhansk region, joined russia’s 7th motorized rifle brigade. In this enemy unit, he was appointed a machine gunner and sent to the front line.
Fleeing the battlefield near the village of Verkhniokamyanske, the occupiers abandoned their accomplice at his positions, where he was later captured.
Based on evidence collected by the Security Service, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The investigation was carried out jointly with the investigators of the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
