Following SSU investigation, three militants who broke through to Pokrovsk and Siversk sentenced to 15 years in prison
Based on the evidence collected by the SSU, another three traitors who fought against the Defence Forces on the eastern front have been convicted to prison.
In spring this year, Ukrainian defenders captured them during attempts of enemy breakthroughs on Pokrovsk and Siversk directions.
After the SSU’s investigations, the court sentenced the perpetrators to 15 years in prison.
Two of the convicted individuals were residents of the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk oblast.
At the beginning of russia’s full-scale aggression, they joined the 9th marine regiment of the 1st army corps of russia’s Southern military district.
There, they ‘served’ as riflemen. After short training, the traitors were sent to shell Ukrainian positions near Krasnohorivka and set up enemy fortifications.
The militants were transferred to the 9th motorized rifle regiment of the russian occupation groupings and later were taken prisoner.
Another convict is from the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk region, who joined the 2nd army corps of the aggressor state in early February 2022.
The militant participated in the seizure of Popasna, Luhansk region, and then stormed Verkhnyokamianske on Siversk direction.
There, together with other ruscists, he tried to break through Ukrainian defenses, but was taken prisoner.
Based on the evidence, the court found the accused guilty under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.1, 111.2 (high treason);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The investigations were conducted by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
