Following SSU investigation, FSB agent sentenced to 15 years in prison for adjusting strikes on Dnipropetrovsk region

Based on evidence gathered by the Security Service of Ukraine, an FSB agent, detained in the Dnipropetrovsk region in November 2025, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The convicted individual is a resident of Pavlohrad and was recruited by the russian federal security service. He was responsible for directing enemy airstrikes against the regional centre.

The investigation established that the individual had a first-degree disability, which he used to evade suspicion during document checks by law enforcement officers and to pass through checkpoints without obstruction while carrying out reconnaissance missions.

The agent walked in the frontline city and its surrounding areas in an attempt to identify positions of the Defence Forces that russia was preparing to target.

Through this asset, the enemy intelligence service also sought to obtain information on the locations of facilities producing unmanned aerial systems.

During reconnaissance, the suspect also used his mobile phone to photograph the external infrastructure of electrical substations. The information was intended to facilitate new attacks and assist in adjusting repeated russian strikes against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The SSU detained the agent at his home. During a search of the premises, investigators seized a mobile phone containing evidence of his cooperation with the FSB.

The aggressor’s intelligence services recruited the man after he posted messages on Telegram channels calling for the occupation of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Based on evidence collected, the court found the accused guilty under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by the SSU Office in Dnipropetrovsk Region under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
